There are more choices to be had for lunches at your resorts. The times for lunch go something like this: Lunch in the Buffet will go 11:30 to 1:30. Lunch at the Snack Bar will go 11:00 to 5:00. Any a la carte restaurants will go 12:00 to 2:00. The buffet where you’d had your breakfast will be open for lunch. Remember though, you will need to be “dressed” (please refer to Chapter 8 ).
Most resorts will also have a snack bar, or pool bar or something along those lines. It’s probably located near the main pool. Here you can have your lunch in your bathing suit and go barefoot if you choose. This lunch is buffet style so you’ll help yourself. There will be quick and easy food like pizza (yes, those are cut up hot dogs on your pizza, lol), hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, a deli selection to make sandwiches and a salad bar. There may also be some prepared meals like something chicken or beef and rice and veggies. And there will a small area for desserts. There will be staff here to get your drinks and clear your plates.
Besides these two options, there may be an a la carte restaurant that is open. There was one resort that we went to that was open for lunch. There was hardly anyone ever there and this was the BEST food at the whole resort. Of course, you needed to be dressed as you would for the buffet, but it was air-conditioned, you had table service, menus for meal choices prepared specifically for you, attentive service and the most wonderful desserts including ice cream sundaes. When I book clients at this resort, I always highly recommend having lunch here at least once.
You will find your lunch choices in the informational packet that you receive at check-in. Please consider going to all of the a la carte restaurants that are open for lunch as I think that you will be pleasantly surprised. Most times, the lunch menu is different from the dinner menu.
