How to get the most value from your all-inclusive resort

There are ways to get the most “bang for your buck” at an all-inclusive vacation resort.

First, know that anytime that you leave your resort; you are opening your wallet.  As appealing as dune buggies and horseback riding and zip-lining and island tours seem; they will all cost you time and money.  Not that these activities should be ignored; it’s just that they are extra.

DSCN0410To get the most value for your dollar, try to make use of all that your resort has to offer.  Make sure you are dining at all the restaurants that are available to you.  You may only have a choice of 3 a la carte restaurants for a one week stay; but make sure you have a meal at each one.  If you’re not satisfied with your meal; then go to the buffet.

If you are traveling with your children, have them visit the Kid’s club for at least a day.  These clubs are included in the price of your resort.  They will have a great time and you will get to relax and do your thing for a change without worrying about them.  When was the last time you were able to take a nap when caring for a 5 and a 7 year old?

The Entertainment team will be after you to participate in all of their activities.  Get up and try some.  Where can you go at home and try archery for free?  Or play Bingo?  Or when can you ever get enough people together to play Bocce ball or Darts?  What nightclubs and discos can you go to at home that don’t charge a cover fee?  Or have free drinks?

TROPICAL DRINKOf course, I don’t need to tell anyone about having their favorite cocktail whenever you want.  These are also included in your resort.  When I’m on vacation, I have a pre-dinner cocktail, wine with my dinner and then a nightcap before retiring.  And, I have dessert after every meal.   If you added all of that to your restaurant tab at home; you’d be looking at over $100 at the very least.

There is just so much to do on your resort, that you can be satisfied with your investment without having to dig out your wallet to pay more.
